Often called the 'Saint Tropez' of Tunisia this former fishing village boasts amazing beaches, rejuvenating mineral baths, ancient buildings and interesting places of interest. 1 - Hammamet Beach - The Gulf of Hammamet has some of the most outstanding beaches in Europe. There are uncrowded stretches of sand at the South and the North of the town both of which offer superb opportunities to Jet-Ski, Water-Ski, Scuba-dive, Windsurf and swim incrystal blue water.



2 - Friguia animal Park - Situated between Hammamet and Sousse this haven for exotic animals is situated between the Mediteranean Sea and the spectacular Atlas mountains. You will get to see Lions, giraffes, Ostriches, elephants, Monkeys, Crocodiles and various other wild animals. There will also be an opportunity to see traditional African and Tunisian dancing.



3 - Kasbah Fort of Hammamet - The Kasbah in Hammamet dates back to the 12th Century has a compact but interesting museum and beautiful views of the Medina, the new town,and the wonderful fishing harbour.Why not stop off for a refreshing drink?



4 - Golf - With 6 Golf courses in the area there are plenty of greens to keep the keen golfer busy. Just outside the resort is the 18 hole Par 72 Jasmine Golf course, this course has a practice area for beginners and plenty of water hazards. The Citrus Golf course is another course that you must visit, this 300 acre course is built around Forests and Olive Groves and is conveniently located next to the Beaches.



5 - Yasmin Hammamet - is a relatively new tourist development just six minutes from the centre of Hammamet and one hour from Tunis and Monastir airports. The Resort of Yasmin Hammamet is named after the Jasmine flower, symbol of life and happiness and has a Marina with 740 moorings, a walled Medina area with covered markets and various theme parks, restaurants, cafes, gardens, parks and entertainment complexes.



6 - Thalassotherapy - Thalassotherapy is a generic term to describe a variety of treatments that uses body wraps, scrubs and hydro-massage that use sea-weed, sea-water and other ocean derivatives. Several Hammamet hotels offer a full range of treatments known to alleviate many illnesses and relieve stress.



7 - Medina of Hammamet - The little Medina in Hammamet is surrounded by 15th century walls and has numerous small shops, cafes and interesting things to see. You can even walk along the top of the wall where you can see beautiful views of the Med sea. The Medina is located next to the beach so you you can visit the sun sheltered streets after a day of sunbathing.



8 - Carthage - No trip to Tunisia would be complete without a trip to this ancient Roman site. Situated 15km North of Tunis, these ruins have immense historical significance and offers the visitor a glimpse at examples of early Islamic art, thermal baths, theatres and Temples in unbelievable condition.



9 - 'AquaPark Flipper' - Hammamet's only Water Park has countless slides and several pool areas that will keep the children happy for a long time.



10 - Pupputt Roman Site - Take a step back in time and glimpse into the lifestyles of the Ancient Romans. This fascinating historical site dates back to the Byzantine era and is home to tombs, baths, columns and relatively intact residential quarters.
